About 15 years ago, I began developing the Alexandria collection after a visit to the British Museum.

The ancient carvings in the Egyptian Galleries, were exquisite.

The carefully carved grooves in the granite, were mesmerising.

To think that they were carved thousands of years ago, and with such skill, makes me grateful that we have access to such important museums.

It was around this time that I spotted a tiny translucent butterfly on my studio window.

And so the idea began to grow.

In time, I grew so fond of the little butterfly motif and all that it represents, I even made it my logo.

It's hidden underneath the ribbon, but it is there.
